While visiting Woodstock today we happened by a little place called Mel’s. We haven’t had a good meal of fish and chips in a while and thought we would take a chance. Absolutely wonderful. The portions were huge, the fish and fries cooked to perfection. The owner and her son are so friendly. We will definitely be visiting again and next time will be on purpose strictly for the meal.
Recently moved to Woodstock and so thrilled to have found this place! Real old fashion Fish & Chips!! They have fried clams too! If you’re in town, you owe yourself a treat. I will be a frequent customer for sure! You have to see this place. It’s been open since 1927!!! It has such a vibe!!!!
Was looking at your menu, correct me if I’m wrong, but I think your menu on here needs updating.
Just for clarification, senior’s day Monday only from 3 pm on, correct? My last visit was great, asked the young lady to make sure my fish was not overdone and she nailed it. Thanks
RESPONSE: The page did need correcting, I missed updating that page with our winter hours, they were still showing our summer hours. The Senior’s Special is available during all open hours on a Mondays. Thanks for your comments!!
We heard about this place from our friends and decided to try it for lunch today. I am so glad we did. The fish (Cod and Halibut) was crisp and delicious and the fresh cut fries a real treat.

Just had the lunch special it was fantastic.
Called ahead due to Covid it was ready on time and the place was spotless.
Highly recommend.
